Wow, those fees going from £999 to £2,499

Also note:
In order to focus on our core residential mortgage business we are withdrawing our BTL products temporarily.
The CURRENT Residential range will be withdrawn at 10pm the day before – Monday 21 April 2008. FULL applications must be submitted by this time in order to secure a booking on the product.

Abbey no longer sees BTL as an investable product... providing a good return.
I wonder why.... ;P0 -
Fees are going up but rates are going down, and it looks like most of the range is keeping it's £999 fees. Also there's a new range of preferential rates not available through brokers for customers who either have existing or take out new current accounts or savings with Abbey.
BTL is only being pulled from brokers, there's a token 1 product staying available through branches, not a great rate though so presumably just there on the off chance someone walks in and asks about it!0 -
Hi PBA
Can you clarify please:
"Also there's a new range of preferential rates not available through brokers for customers who either have existing or take out new current accounts or savings with Abbey."
Do you mean that there are preferential mortgage rates for customers who have a current account or savings account or
preferential rates for existing mortgage customers.
I am interested because I am with Abbey and are due to remortgage in October.
Thanks

Fees are going up but rates are going down, !
With exception of Morgages that are linked to changes in Base Rates and Morgages up to 75% LTV which other Abbey rates are going down out of interest.
