    Hello and welcome MOT!

Right - I need motivaion to do some evaluation forms - but I promised I'd do them so... I'm going to do a batch then surf, then another batch and more surfing! Sounds doable that way!

Just logging in during my lunch break to say hi and hope you are all well. Haven't paid the Sky bill so I'm offline at home until that gets paid (hopefully Weds this week). Good job I OD'd on here at the weekend ;)

Toto, have you tried those anti-nausea wrist bands you can get for travel sickness. I think it works on the basis of acupuncture (which I believe is not working for you) but it's a small outlay and it might work?

Other than that ginger is supposed to help (never did for me tho). I just had to eat little and often. I found that if I was hungry then I felt worse.

Hope everyone is having a good day (considering it is Monday).

    Take care.

    hi all :)

Got back from my course. Went to Kwik Fit on the way back to have the flat tyre reinflated, valve changed and tyres swapped back.

Now, when I last had to have it done when I broke the last one, he didn't charge me. It was the same guy again today.

I asked about the valves and he said they were aluminium and they corroded easily (although the tyres are only 2 years old!). I asked him to change the flat tyre and the back 2 tyres to standard valves (the fourth is already a standard one now from last time) so it shouldn't happen again.

He did it and went to the till - I wasn't expecting it to be free this time - however....he tapped a few buttons and went - right, that would be £29.99 but, let's say - £20 for cash...............huh????

So I said, well I've got £10 in cash or I can pay on my debit card.

OK, he said- let's call it a tenner and refused to let me pay with my debit card "we'll put it down as 'housekeeping' "

Yeah, right, I thought, housekeeping in your back pocket!!!

He then took ages to decide what to do with the money as I pretended to be looking for my keys and he finally just opened the drawer and put the cash in.

I am very glad I didn't have a £20 note in my purse. I didn't mind paying £10 (I guess) for 3 tyres to be removed, valves changed, re-inflated and sorted - it took him about 30 minutes. But £20?? And, it should be £29.99??!! For what??!!!

Oh, and he didn't issue a receipt either........

well, I have to eat my words!

i've just phoned a different Kwik Fit and asked how much it would cost to have aluminium valves changed to rubber.

It's £8.50 - per wheel!!!!! He said it was 'just' the cost of the valve and the re-alignment of the wheels plus VAT. So 3 tyres I had done would have cost me £25.50 plus VAT - I guess that's around £29.99!

I don't know if my wheels were re-aligned, but it seems I got a bargain - if in a slightly dodgy way!

seems I got a bargain then!

I also got my first assignment to do for my course by next Monday. It's only 700 words but as it's the first one, I think it will take a bit extra brain power to get my head around what to write.

My Smarties icebreaker went down well. The others had found one and just explained it. I said I'd bought chocolate for mine so everyone said 'ooooh, go on, do it'!!!!! :rotfl:
