Many thanks for all of the time you guys have put in reading and commenting.

I'll respond in order of the replies as that way I wont get confused..

Beerworshipper: I'll try out that website later, I'm all up for motivational tools.. The £2000 is in sharesave scheme (I guess it's around that) but not sure how much I'd have available to take out before the 3 years is up etc. I'll have to contact them to find out.

Tealady: The groceries figure might seem high as I honestly dont know how much I spend so made a guess. Would be shocked if it were more than that, I know that I go through loads of fresh veg and fruit. I do actively search out the cheapest fuel, always make sure I fill up close to home rather than work as Solihull seems a little expensive compared to here.

Wendy24g: The clothes is a tough one, I'm going through a transition at the moment where basically having to buy clothes all the time as they get to big quite quickly, that'll hopefully start to slow down a bit soon though. I'm not buying luxury clothing as there's not point just essentials.
Tallyhoh: My internet is just internet access, though it's virgin media's top package. I guess that could drop down by half though. there are still a few things I can sell like a toolbox/kayak etc. A lot of the clothes I've got that are old I've just given to charity as they've all been from the bigger side of range.

falady: Your right, I've not included any costs of those things. I really do need to think about this more dont I? in the past it was all to easy to not think and just do.. My mobile bill is actually quite good, I have a company phone so just make a token contribution of normally 50%, sometimes less..

Chevalier: Your right about the rent, that's what i've been choosing to pay to her, she hasn't asked for it but I thought at the age of 30 it's taking the !!!! if I dont pay her something. The groceries are just my food, toiletries etc. The old dear buys a lot of stuff in.
dhassen: I'm going to be ordering my new company car next month I think it is, I've already decided that I'm going to have to be sensible and get something which will give me some money back from my monthly allowance and hopefully any car will be more economical than the diesel I have at the moment.

4littleone: I do make a fixed trip to work most days but I do occasionally have to go out and visit our other sites. if i opted out of the car scheme then I'd only get about £500 a month which would then mean having to tax/insure/service/pay for a car under 3 years old. The other travel is for the toll road, I try not to make to many journeys on it..

RedDino308: I think the spending diary is a good idea, yeah ebay is going to become a good friend of mine.
