could someone give some advice pleeez, my mother and brother had a joint mortgage and was covered with insurance that if one of them died the house would be paid for, well my mother died recently so the house is nowbelongs to my brother, but he has a girlfriend of 6 months (she is very nice up to now!) she will be moving in with my brother but i am concerned that if in the future things go wrong between them where does she stand as regarding the house . someone told me as soon as she has been there 6 months she is entitled to half of everything, i would hate the thought that if worst case scenario they split up that he would have to move out or sell his jome what he has lived in all his life can anyone tell me what happens
many thanks in advance

Yes: the scandal is that women in that situation find that after the big split they are homeless and with no rights. So your brother should be just fine.0

I fail to see why this is a scandal.
My friend has just split with a woman who he has been with for ten years. The relationship was rocky from the start, after four years she moved in, sold her house and then spent the profits. Whilst living in his house, he paid all the bills, holidays etc and put a roof over her two childrens heads. She bought the food and paid something towards the holiday ie car rental. When they split up she demanded £25k as she had nowhere to go, eventually she got back with him and lo and behold got the £25k to start a business (he went into debt to get this money for her), funnily enough she has now chucked him out. I know that she cared about him but I also know she went back with him knowing that the relationship wouldn't last but wanted the money.
He has now had to sell his house because he could not afford to run it and pay off this money.
So no I do not think that just moving in with someone automatically qualifies you for half of the house that they had worked to own before you came along.
For the record I am a woman.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz0 -

Which is right where she was before moving in. Nothing lost. Fair enough to me.0
