I think Nile would say cold milk, I'd say salt and cold water, but Nile used to work in detergents, so worth a PM? COLD, anyway, hot will set it.Signature removed for peace of mind0

If it hasnt already dried stick it in a bowl of cold water until the experts arrive with more advice, if it has already dried let us know cos that will make a difference to some of the advice.
Pain though isnt it - I hate when that happens.I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -

It seems to me that most stains will come out well if they are treated immediately. The trouble is my family don't always say there is a stain, and the clothes have been 2 days in the laundry basket before I see it!I'm with savvy-sue on this one,I always find that soaking in cold water immediately with a bit of salt before washing as usual about 12 hrs later will do the trick.Never use shop bought stain removers for this one!0

Thanks for the ideas so far.
Should have said that the fabric is Rayon and the stain was well dried in when I noticed it. ! It is not quite so obvious now but is still there...along with a huge water stain now!!! Strangely the mark came out of the nylon lining with no probs at all
Have tried so far:-
salt/cold water
soap/tepid water
washing soda/warm water
detergent/sponge
wash-upliquid/nail brush0 -
I would only use salt and cold water.
Soak the area in cold water and sprinkle on salt. leave for a while rinse and wash as normal. I find this works if this is your first attempt a removing the stain.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
