To Cut A Long Story Short, I Was Made Redundant So Couldnt Pay My Creditors, I Went To Halifax With Whom I Have My Credit Card Who Basically Didnt Want To Know Me And Told Me To Get In Touch With Payplan.
I Have Been With Payplan Since November Last Year But The Thing Is Halifax Keep Adding Interest Onto My Account Which Is Way More Than The Minimum I Pay Them And They Keep Charging Me Late Payment Fee's, When I Call Them To Explain( As Payplan Told Me To) I Pay Payplan On The 2nd Of Every Month So Its Not My Fault The Banks Take Too Long To Transfer The Money To Halifax They Dont Want To Know Me And Wont Help Me In Any Way. What Am I Supposed To Do If My Creditor Wont Help Me?

Firstly, don't post with Capital Letters At The Start Of Every Word.
It's very difficult to read.
Anyway, i would write them a letter of complaint, with some quotes from here put into the letter http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/consumer_credit/oft664.pdf
I sent a letter to the TSB after they kept adding interest and charges onto my old over draft and success, i got back £600. It only took one letter to them as well, with a few quotes from the above document.
By the way i am also in a DMP with payplan and the TSB didn't listen to them, they were still adding the charges on, so i took it upon myself to contact them.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Similar thing is happening to us at the moment with Halifax card. they did stop interest, but have started adding it again. The late payment fee is not because you are late, its mainly because the full payment they asked for is not being sent, just a smaller amount as per DMP.
As I understand it from speaking to them, after around 6 months we will be in default and they will then transfer to a DCA.
They claim they can't transfer it quicker than that.
So we're just waiting for it to go to DCA (sold on for a pittance) and then hopefully interest will stop.0 -
I had the same with BOS (which are Halifax), I wrote a letter explaining that I was with Payplan and that their payment date was 1st month, and it took a while to get to them - and that all my other creditors had adjusted their due dates according - they were the only ones who hadn't.
They had me on frozen interest for 2 years (which they told me was a mistake & they kindly said they wouldn't add back the interest that they should have been charging for the last 18 months).
They started charging interest again 5 months ago, and with interest & the £12 monthly late-fee charge, this was more than the payment I was making - so I basically told them that it was counterproductive and that if they didn't charge me the £12, my payment would cover the interest and that surely it was better for both of us if the debt was going down rather than up.
I had a nice letter back and they agreed to stop charging the £12, they refunded the 3 £12 charges they had made to date and although they haven't altered the due date, they are not charging me the late fee. They also cancelled the arrears, becuase they said my monthly payment was now just at the minimum payment level.
I think it helped by the fact that I was also accusing them of harrassment (which Halifx are notorious for) - they once called 13 times in one day (this was over 2 years ago - I think they've stopped this practice now) and I had it in writing that they would never contact me by phone again, only by letter. Then when they started adding interest again, so I was getting in arrears, the phone calls started - only 2 a day, but as I had it in writing that they would never call me - I got pretty mad - so I think they might have been trying to stop me taking it further by being nice - which worked. A refund always does it for me !
BOS also told me the same as scooterwife - they stop interest normally for 6 months and then if you still can't make the minimum payment after that, they pass you to a DCA, which the lady at BOS said was best as all interest & charges stop then and you can start making headway into the debt.
As I said - they made a mistake with me, which allowed the debt to get low enough so that my DMP payment covered the minimum. Not sure if this is a good thing or not.[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -

Right, let's make some progessi feel like crying when i contact them because i cant seem to speak to anyone thats willing to listen to what im saying, the impression i get is im a lowlife for not paying my bill but i cant help the situation im in, im dying to pay it off but with all the interest and late payment fees its never going to get the total amount owing down.
Do Halifax have your Income & Expenditure from payplan, also the letter of authority you signed for Payplan?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Definitely write rather than phone - also send a letter requiring a signature, or else they sometimes get ignored. I could get no joy out of them on the phone - you never get to speak to the right peoplei feel like crying when i contact them because i cant seem to speak to anyone thats willing to listen to what im saying, the impression i get is im a lowlife for not paying my bill but i cant help the situation im in, im dying to pay it off but with all the interest and late payment fees its never going to get the total amount owing down.
Whenever I have written (with a recorded delivery), I have had a proper response from their complaints department, and my letter has been read by the right people (my last one contained details of several people who had read and responded to the different issues I had raised)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0 -

just to pre warn you i had to get the complaints dept involved in my bank dispute as they added on charges and wouldnt listen and they were most helpful and i have now had the intrest stopped-after they have already added another £800 in charges on they have given me a overdraft to cover it but wont take if off as they are waiting to hear about the test trial for all the bank charge claims thing-shocking really my debt was only £280 with them now its over £1000 they just dont listen so i have written to the ombudsman stating how unfair they are
good luck and keep on to them constantly and take the names of snotty unhelpful staff and put them in your letter to the complaints deptgoal for 2014....i will manage money better ..must resist shopping..............:A0
