Free Alternative Internet Browser - Firefox

For a free alternative to internet explorer - and it (in my very very humble opinion as I know little about these things - there is bound to have been some discussion on the techie board though) - try Firefox.
It is faster, just as safe (or safer) and can be personalised - as well as lots of add ons (including one for ebay with is useful).

Review (and alternative download point) at cnet:

Opera is good too, I use it all the time. I suppose it all depends on personal opinion though.0

I have not tried opera - might experiment this week - just tried Safari but dont like the interface and there are a few on-going security issues too (though probably no worse than internet explorer).0

Internet Explorer has always had the most security issues (it's the most popular browser, and hackers tend to aim for this first).
Opera is a very good (safer), and fast browser (there is certainly a difference compared to Internet Explorer).
I've used Firefox for years, and for the last couple of years, I've been using Minefield (64bit version of Firefox to go with XP Pro 64bit). 64bit Firefox is even quicker than Opera (IMHO)How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I use opera too!! It is a lot safer and a lot faster and I really like the "speed dial" as you can have all your most used websites there and only have to click to open (MSE is my first hehe!!!).
Sometimes find you cant do a survey using opera and have to use firefox, which is fine but i would prefer Opera.
Firefox has a lot of great add- ons so you can make firefox exactly as you want it and it is soooooooo much better than IE !!!!!:(A freebie a day sends a smile my way!

I love firefox but its so resource heavy. Got mine pretty customised so don't want to switch to Opera but reports are good!0

This week, I are been mostly using Firefox... but I use Opera on the PDA (and IE on a couple of sites).0

I have been using firefox for months N months since my internet explorer died when trying to update it now until they make a new update cant get it to work as it wont uninstall and cant install over as it says I have a newer version than any I try to install
firefox is annoying because some sites know they dont work in firefox and tell you so others just dont know and mess up which is irritating. lol.0 -
I use Mozilla Firefox
The Firefox Web Browser is the faster, more secure, and fully customizable way to surf the web.I find it is really fast as well.
I have got a Sony Ericcson W850i mobile phone and Opera browser: Home page and Opera is quicker than any other on mobiles.
I also use Main :: Netscape Navigator Web Browser online which again I find really great.0
