Old Tea

Hi
I always seems to have some cold tea left in the teapot when I got to wash it out. Has anyone got an clever old-style use for it as it seems a shame to pour it down the sink.
Thanks

I use cold tea to soak dried fruit in, prior to using the fruit in a fruit-loaf or bread pudding.
Also, there is a recipe for 'tea bread' somewhere on forum (sorry..haven't got link) where you soak the ingredients in the tea.
my kids often used to soak paper in cold tea and then let the paper dry..to make it look like parchment (for school projects!).0 -
You could always buy bigger cups! Less waste :rotfl:0

I second all the above ideas. My nan used to water her plants with leftovercold tea from the pot & they where all happy. Same with soaking fruit & soaking paper for school projects. Gives it a real "old" look to it instead of the bleached brilliant white you get now:>)0

You could also use it to 'age' a document. Might be very MSE if it helped you commit a profitable crime!!!Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

My nan always used to tip it on her roses, so that's what I do, could be cos they were the plants closest to her back door though!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

it works well as a compost if you have a composter you can put it in that or straight on to the plant beds in your garden will be fine i guess. left over tea on dried fruit makes a great cake too i agreeStill TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

Weird, my main 'entry' never appeared. Our use for old tea was not faking old documents but ...
Curing 'sticky eye' in the kids.
Soak a piece of cotton wool in cold tea and use it to bathe the dodgy eye. Works brilliantly, if you're lucky you mightn't even need to go to the doctor.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000
