Question about Squidoo

Hi, I'm wondering if someone can give me some advice on Squidoo. I've created a lens which was nowhere near as difficult as I first imagined, and now I've got the bug and want to do more.

I finished it and published it yesterday and this morning I put the title of my lens into the search box and it didn't show up. Is there something I am doing wrong or does it take a few days to show in the search?

I'm also a bit confused how I can direct traffic to my lens to start earning some money. I am new to this and would like to continue doing this sort of thing, but there's no point in making a load of new lenses if I can't get people to read them. I've sent the links to some friends, but apart from that I am a bit stuck.

Does anyone make any decent money from Squidoo?

Ok, so I've just answered my own question.Apparantley it is still showing as a work in progress lens which means that I may want to look at putting something more exciting it in to get it promoted so it shows on the searches. The only way I can get people to see it at the minute is through the link.

I would be interested to hear anyone else's views on the whole Squidoo concept though.

The main way of getting traffic is by search engines once your lens has been indexed by Google etc.

You'd need to find keyword phrases that have fairly decent search volumes and not much competition on Google and your lens should get on the ifrst page of Google therefore get a lot of traffic. This site explains how to do this http://www.bummarketingmethod.com/Article_Marketing.html

You might also want to try Hub Pages http://hubpages.com/. They pay 60% Google Adsense revenue, Squidoo only pays 50% (but via paypal).

It can take a few days for a lens to be published, and show up in searches. Also I think you need a minimum number of "widget thingies" for it to be published. Can't think what they are called ATM, but they are the ebay, Amazon etc. bits.

Hi, thanks for that. I have just added a few more bits to it, tarted it up a bit etc and it now has the little green tick next to it which means it is a featured lens.

Nearly finished another one.Just need to work out how to get loads of people to read them. Fun to make though. At first I thought it would be really hard, but it's pretty self explanitory really.

Lensmaster Loyalis posted yesterday about how he has made $1000 from one lens in one month!

It is quite possible to do.
