I use a lot of the fly baby principles but thought it wouldv'e been better if it had a forum like this one. I swish and swipe the bathroom every morning and vac the lounge every morning too. (3 cats.) I don't iron and I cook lots in one go and freeze it to reheat on rush days. Bit by bit I've been organising the house better so that I know where things are. I was a terrible one for 'where's my...where's my...' It drove my husband mad but I don't do it nearly as much now I've got places for things.
One thing that helped in a small but significant way was that I used to leave my son's clothes that weren't dirty enough to need washing but that he'd worn scattered around because I didn't know where to put them. (Not back in the drawer or in the laundry) so hubbie put a box on the shelf in the lounge and I put them in there. Now I can just bob him in a change of clothes when needed without having to go upstairs to his room and I put his shoes in there too so he doesn't play with them and hide them round the house!
I'll keep reading this thread with interest because I've a LONG way to go!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Save time on cooking by doubling up the quantities and freezing half where possible. I peel veggies the evening before they are needed while watching TV. Do your washing at night(economy if you have it) and then you have it ready to hang out in the morning(or drape on airers in the garage if you have one-British weather lol)When children are old enough-about 5 onwards, teach them that they are responsible for their own bedrooms and reward them for tidiness-this will cut your cleaning in half in years to come.Only iron it if its going to show-otherwise its a waste of time.Try to plan your tasks by the time they are going to take. Keep a list of all the stuff in your freezer and try to keep it in different bags for identification. This saves "hunting" for your dinner and buying stuff you dont need. Keep a list in the kitchen(mines on the door) of anything you need to buy-secure a pencil beside it and add to it as you go along. Put coupons straight into your purse cos you forget them otherwise and find them when they are out of date. Make a list of all the things you want /need to do. When the list is complete, number it according to priority. Tick off the list as you go through the day and write down the times for each task. The objective here is not to complete the tasks-thats , well, probably impossible, but when you see just how many things you achieved during the day, you will feel much better about the things you didnt manage to do. It keeps you organised, doing the most important things, rather than the ones which just happen to spring to mind. I keep this list on my kitchen door also.Hope this helps someone!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
