Offset Mortgages

Hi, this is a question relating to offset mortgages - funds are deposited in one account and offset against the balance of the mortgage account -interest being charged on the balance.
If the bank were to go down, would the deposited funds be lost and the mortgage still have to be repaid or could the lost deposited funds be offset against the outstanding mortgage?
