I can't find internet explorer browser when I go on the internet. IE is the default program but somehow I can't find the browser. Google comes up instead. This was already installed on the new Vista computer when I got it. somehow I must have got rid of IE browser. Please, where has it gone and can I get it back?

If you can see google then you have you IE already open with Google as the set 'home' page.
what home page do you want?0 -
I think you are getting confused between browser and home page.
You say IE is the default program - this is your browser and when you select it, google is coming up as the home page. What was your home page previously?Charlie0 -
When I started IE I can't remember what was the hone page. I thought that IE had its own browser? Yes, I am getting confused! Is there a difference between browser and toolbar?0

the Internet Explorer home page is here
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx
click on the link.
To reset your home page go to tools (top right 0f page on Vista) scroll down to internet options and click on 'use current' on the home page option.

A browser is the program that's used to view and access website.
Internet Explorer (IE) or Firefox or Opera or Safari etc are all browsers.
Google is a website, and the company who runs the website.
There is, among a dozen other things, a toolbar for Internet Explorer made by the google company, to give easy access to some of google the website's functions without going to the google website. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Thanks all, I feel stupid, it is good of you all not to laugh!0

First posting to the Forum so forgive me is this is not the corrct place for a question but I to am having difficulty connects to Internet Explorer.
I have windows XP and a wireless Modum which has worked without any problems for 12 months or more. Now I keep obtaing a message which says 'Internet Explorer can not found. A circle chasing its tails says connecting or checking personel setting but does not progress.
If I come out and try it a few more times it will eventually connect. I have spoken on a number of occasions to my internet service provider and Router provider over the last few weeks ,to check setting and have reset a number of times. I am now being advised its a problem with my computer and the Browser.
As a non technical person who just wants to connect to the internet without any problems, any thoughts or comments would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks0 -
Internet Explorer? Browse your c: to \program files\internet explorer and locate iexplore.exe
Double click on the file if it is there and let us know what happens. If it isn't there then you have probably managed to uninstall it.0 -
It is there. In fact I have just logged in without any problems and used Internet Explorer to come this this site. However chances are, when I try tomorrow it will not connect me or I will have to try a number of times.
The techie people at my service provider are saying it is a problem with my Browser, in so far as it sometimes recognises Internet Explorer and connects and other times it does not recognise my 'personnel settings' (what ever they are) and therefore can not go any further.0
