CCA help they want signatures

I hope someone can answer my question. We sent a CCA request to a company at the beginning of April and at top of the letter wrote WE DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS DEBT. Well today have recieved a reply back saying cause we wrote this we most sent 6 signitures including one on a passport or they cant give us a copy of the cca under the credit act.

Now Im sure this is a load of crap us providing a signiture does not prove the debt is ours but it does mean that they can fake our signature. What is our next move do I just carry on waiting for the time to tick by we are nearly at the 12+2 stage.

I hope that makes sense

who is DCA? it is total rubbish ask them to provide you with the act and section which says this???

I would write to them and say that you have my details you have my ame you have corresponded with me here previously so why can't they provide the requested info now? ( probably because they dont have it)

You are under no legal obligation to give them this info

Call me a little naive, but why would they want a specimen signature from you? It's not so they could force your signature to some sort of new agreement is it? Do people actually do that?

these people make the rules up as they go along, and as fermi says they have done it before and no doubt they will do it again. Never Never Never sign a letter of any kind to a DCA just initial or ptint your names.

Many of these organisations operate on the periphery of the law and a few years ago they would have been known as gangsters so much for improving our lives.

be very wary of anything they ask and make sure you know your rights and the law. Do not let them walk all over you.

Thanks for that Dave, I wished I'd known that earlier, I'm dealing with a debt company who are chasing me for a debt from 12 years ago, I have denied any knoweledge of the debt, although the 2 letters I've sent to them I have signed (dam, bloody dam)
