Free Tickets To BBC Shows

Hiya,
Fairly sure this stuff hasnt been posted before (my apologies if it has).
BBC give out free tickets for shows like these (the list gets updated every now and then):

Simply Musicals
Mark Thomas Presents The Firesign Theatre Live Live
Mark Thomas Presents Stan Freberg Live
Celebrity Mastermind
BBC Singers Concert
BBC Radio 3 Concert Orchestra
BBC7 New Comedy Awards 2005
Clare in the Community
15 Minute Musical
Star Spell
Late Night Outtake TV
The Problem with Adam Bloom
Grownups
Quote...Unquote
The Consultants

Click here to visit the site to book the tickets.

Tickets for Top Gear are also available on a seperate site (click here ).

You have to have an equal number of guys/gals in your party, and you must use your tickets, if you don't this could affect weather or not you can obtain tickets in the future.
You also have to get to the show fairly early to get seats, directions to show locations etc are available on the site.

Edit: You also have to be 18+ to attend these shows

  • We go to loads of these shows, they're great! Completely free entertainment!

Most of the Radio 4 comedy shows are recorded at the Drill Hall in London, near Goodge Street tube. Occasionally they use other venues but I've rarely seen one outside London.

The two really well known Radio 4 shows (I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, Just A Minute) tour the country but I think you have to book tickets through wherever they're recording rather than the BBC, and I think you pay for those. But other well known ones like the News Quiz and Quote Unquote are free.

For the Drill Hall shows at least, you generally need to get there quite early as they issue far more tickets than there are seats (because people don't turn up as it's free). The procedure is that you get a numbered sticker on your ticket on the door which means you're guaranteed entry. You can then go away again until it's showtime - or you could go and sit in the tiny, hot, overpriced bar in the Drill Hall if you really wanted to!

I've been to a couple of TV recordings too and they've invariably been at White City, London, and involve a huge amount of queueing.

You are indeed supposed to go if you order tickets but I've found that the odd no-show hasn't affected my ability to get them again. The ticket stubs you surrender have your name on so they can trace usage.

Have never been queried on the gender mix of the people I go with though.

typical BBC. seem to forget that people live North of the Watford Gap.

They seem to forget people live anywhere except London.
