I am really into card-making and i am just asking if anyone knows where to get various bits and bobs for my cards. Had anyone tried writing to companies to get stuff. Please help as i'm on a tight budget!

Try looking around and about for ideas for card-making. sometimes posh shops give you some lovely bags, the patterns would make lovely backgrounds, also newspapers and magazines always have pictures you can cut out and use.
