Lloyds Tsb basic cash account. Ultra debit cards introduced on the 19th of May

Hi guys. Just spoke to an advisor at Lloyds about if they were going to lift the quite frankly ridiculous rule that you can only withdraw cash at Lloyds tsb cash machines and post office branches if you are a basic cash account customer. He said from the 19th of May, they will be introducing an "ultra debit card" which will enable you to use other atms. Anyone else heard of this?

I thought the basic account was the classic account which does allow withdrawals from any ATM with the Visa sign - which account were they referring to as the basic cash accn?

I think poster was referring to the LTSB Cash Account rather than the Classic account.

just seen the cash accn on the website but no mention of change - just a thought but would you not be better off switching accounts within Lloyds for better rates of interest and access to any ATMs?

Yes and about bloody time, it is great that they give the full fat visa debit but without ATM is poop, good news as I have a cash account with them.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

You can try but you will be credit scored.
I know bankruptcies is a no no, as are any history of fraudulent applications.

this would be good but seeing as it was these people who hounded us and nearly drove us both to a nervous breakdown i think we will give this a miss

Have you thought about going to a different bank? Others offer basic accounts that will let you make purchases in shops/online with the card rather than just withdraw from cash machines...

Hi, does anyone know whether they give you a Visa or a Visa Electron with this account?
