  • They are going to start the manual check of reviews soon.

Will we get any warning and opportunity to improve if they are not happy? I'm a little concerned that some of mine are about 80 words rather than 100, although I think the majority of them are well over 100 words. I don't really want to go back through over 60 reviews counting the number of words.

I'd like to continue reviewing - I actually have a few more places in mind to review, but I'd like to see something tangible from them first (hope that doesn't make me sound too mercenary!). I'm probably being over-cautious, as they do seem like a pretty good organisation so far, but when people keep posting on here that they are worried we may not receive the goodies, it just makes me anxious!

I actualy e-mailed them as some of my reviews were under the 100 and i wanted to check it wouldn't void my entry into the competition if i went back and edited them to increase the word count. They said that doing so would be fine and that they would be beginning the manual check of reviews shortly.
  • This is a really cool idea as it seems like something most people would do anyway, so it's a lot of fun, but does anyone know if you have to stick to your own town listed on your profile, or can you write reviews of neighbouring cities? I live in a small town but have spent virtually most of my work/study/social life in the bigger city. There's really nothing else for me to write about in my home town and I've only done about 16 reviews, but there's scads more for me to write if I include other places. I've sent off an email to their admin a few days ago, but haven't got a response :(

But some people were saying that they had run out of places to review...I'm worried that by reviewing places that aren't in my hometown, those reviews won't be eligible for the Amazon vouchers :(

I've now gone in and edited and all of my reviews are over 100 words - and I've done 53 for good measure - so here's hoping!

    they will

As long as you can offer genuine experience of somewhere then that's great. I've written about my home town, the place where I live, where I work and even places abroad.

Those who have run out of places have probably just run out of ideas or have already reviewed everywhere they've been. Maybe they don't get out much!

Lol I guess that sounds good. I just feel a bit silly for experiencing more of the city than my own listed home town, so I hope that they believe my reviews because I honestly spend more time there! :D

    Hello,
I'm a newbie and this looked like the right place for this, sorry if I'm wrong. Sorry for the typo in the title, I can't change it now!

I've changed the typo in the title for you and merged the two Qype threads, as there are two active threads on the front page of the Up Your Income board.

Sounds like a good review site. I have to admit I'm so addicted to DooYoo I can't afford the time to get interested in another review site just at the minute! :D
