Hotel in Newcastle for October
Hi all,
My OH is looking to book his stag do for 3rd October (2 nights) and wanted to go to Newcastle, a quick search showed that there seems to be nothing available in the area because they all seem to be full/unavailable for the Saturday night.
Does anyone know if there is something going on that weekend in Newcastle? If so he may have to rethink his destination.
Or, does anyone know of a relatively budget hotel in the area (tried Travelodge and Premier Inn) that may take a booking of 28 males.

The Great North Run (biggest half marathon) is on Sunday 5th so he will find it difficult/expensive to get a hotel for the Saturday night in and around Newcastle.
Sorry, I can't recommend anywhere in particular either!

You may have better luck in Whitley Bay. There are lots of b&b's and also quite a few hotels.
A taxi to/from Newcastle is not that expensive. Also Whitley Bay has its own pub crawl with stag and hen do's.

Have you tried the Innkeepers (at Cramlington and also Newcastle/Gosforth)? Both are showing rooms available (for 4 rooms at least), and are only 15 mins from city centre.
You say you have tried travelodge - was that rejected cos of price or unavailablity (as the Newcastle Seaton Burn shows rooms available).
also have you looked at metro inns? Theres a one in Newcastle (again about 15 mins or so taxi or mini bus). Its a very budget one (I think about 30 a night per room). I tried a availability search and they had 10 triple rooms available.
See this link for that search :

This link is the website direct to metro inns but could not do group search

Hopefully these are a good starting point!0
