i make a normal bolognese sauce in the slowcooker
mince, tin toms, chopped onions, maybe some carrot or celery cut really small to bulkit out a bit.. garlic puree and loads of mixed herbs
switch it on and leave for approx 4hrs,, i usually stir it at som epoint to break up the mince a bit

Do you have a recipe for sauce that you don't do in a SCIf so, use that; the SC doesn't make food bland, you need to start with good ingredients
Try adding herbs, chilli sauce, tomato puree, ground black pepper, nutmeg, etc.

Hi,
I made a big batch of veg spag bol the other day, i used the usual tinned toms, passa, grated carrott, courgettes, dice onion and garlic - loads. I also out a bag of quorn mince, and a good pince of mixed herbs - Mr T's value. I put it on all day for when i got home from work - the carrotts and courgettes just kind of melt into the sauce. It made loads, i only have me and DS to feed and have 6 portions in the frezzer now.

Thanks for that Penny! lol My experiance with slow cooking in the past has not been good so i thought it must be the sc as i was cooking recipes in the sc'er i usually do on the hob so i just assumed they would taste the same but they didn't, i will give it a go again and try putting extra flavours in, thanks everyone for your help x:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j

as above really, I use lots of onions and mushrooms, veggie mince (Tesco's own is ok), passata, and fresh or dried herbs, make a huge batch and freeze in small containers, so handy when you can't be ar*%d cooking, just thaw in the microwave, and heat on the hob while you cook your pasta, and grate your lovely fresh parmesan (Aldi's is as good as any!)

i find a good glug of balsamic vinegar gives the sc meals a lovely tasty richness. i also add stock cubes, herbs, grated carrot, red lentils tinned toms, tom puree veggies etc anything and everything gets lobbed in!proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0
