Car Hire Manchester

Read next post below for an even better deal.
Below is completely nicked from HDUK, but if you are in need of a car and in the Manchester area, surely this is a must. I've even considered driving up as it seems that you can take out two months at a time for about £170. Would it be possible for someone to get 6 consecutive bookings and hence a car for the year for about £1000. It's got to be done as it would surely include road tax and "third party insurance"!!
Hire a car for just £19.99 for 7 days.
You have to go thru BMI - But just click on the car hire tab.
Seems to be just Manchester airport only.
Put in any dates as long as its at least 7 days (maximum 62 days) choose manchester airport as location and uk as country of origin.
If you get page not found just click on the BMI link on that page then click on Car Hire.
Otherwise go here.......

Go Via Quidco for £8 cash back
Direct with hertz.co.uk
Select "Green Selection" tab or on full list of cars go about 2/3rd of the way down and find mid-size car. Show details for price. Shows up as Ford Focus
Also about £40 to return the car to another destination0 -
Could possibly be a missprice as anything above the first car is a silly amount more, would be ideal for me if i didnt still have 2 years to pay on my car.0

PLEASE PLEASE - Read the small print with any car rental promotion.
I worked in car rental for three years as a manager for a large multinational and so am a abit of a car hire nerd- not all car hire prices are the same. What does it include? How much deposit do they take on your credit card? How high is the excess if the car gets damaged (it only takes someone to dent it in a car park.... if they charge you stop days (the amount of hire charge they loose while its waiting for repair) a simple dent can cost alot! If they offer extra 'damage waiver insurance' how much is that a day.
Don't get me wrong there are some good deals out there but check the small print.
The biggest customer service complaint i used to get was ' i didnt want the extra damage waiver insurance.. they never explained it.... i thought i had to take it' with extra insurance. If you sign for it - it WON'T be refunded.Debt free May 2016 (without the support of MSE forum users that would never have been possible - thank you all)0 -
Deposit is £250 and the excess is £500 usually, as said i work for Hertz.HUKD Sucks!0

shame about the 150km location restriction or I'd go for it with the added peace of mind.If you find my post helpful please do not click thanks, instead please send the thanks to my paypal account.:beer:0 -
Gee...I only need the car for two days, ok to leave back early..no penalties etc?
£19.99 ...it total price all in?...:)0 -
Having tried to check around the terms and conditions, it clearly states that Collision Damage Waiver is included, but this still leaves you liable for £550 excess if you have an accident. You can buy optional 'Super Cover' for £98.70 a week to remove this excess.
However, I'm suspicious that there's no mention of the basic offer including Third Party liability or Theft cover? It's as if they're expecting you to drive it on your own car insurance - which is unlikely to cover hiring. Anyone else read it this way?0 -
TPI will be included in the price, theft cover will be with the standard cover as well. they have to include TPI as by law that is the legal minimum requirement. Of course, some companies will use your TPI if you hire following an accident and your insurance company are ok with it. But means it hits your no claims if accident.
As no one has confirmed this price to be genuine, my guess is that it is a typo. Big insurers pay £13-£15 per day +VAT for this size car (astra) and hire companies struggle to make money on them. I would gues it should be £19.99 per day. But hey, If you can get it good luck to you, cos that hardly covers the cost of there insurance and depreciation.0
