Tax return and fuel allowance

in Cutting tax
I was wondering if anyone could answer this query...
I recently became self-employed as a domestic cleaner hoping to expand into employing others in the future. The problem I am now coming up against is what records I need to keep and also if I'm allowed to claim for fuel used travelling to a job.
As I have only just started I have two clients that require me to go to them every week on a certain day (tue and fri).
From what I've read I'm confused as to whether I can claim the 40p per mile allowance because it is a regular workplace?? and I dont as yet then travel to another client from that point instead I come home.Other websites/advice say you can claim.
At the moment I haven't earned enough to have to pay tax for 07/08 but would like this issue resolved if anyone does know the answer.

Can you carry out your business at one venue all the time? - No. You have numerous clients so none of them are your regular place of work. Claim all business expenses!
Keep receipts for fuel (they don't need to total the 40p per mile as 40p covers wear & tear, insurance etc.)
You should claim the 40p even though you haven't earned enough to pay tax as losses can be off-set in future years.0 -
Yes, you can. Keep all records of business mileage and fill in a P87 form from HMRC after 6th April next year.0

I thought a P87 related to employed people not self-employed ones ?.....0
