Frozen Cream help needed

Sometimes I do such stupid things that I astound myself:o

Last week when I did my monthly shop I noticed that Asda had reduced their 600ml pots of Double Cream from £1.68 to £1 and I quickly read the label on the pot I had in the fridge and it said it could be frozen so I ordered four pots and when they arrived I slung them in the freezer.Yesterday I took one of the pots out as I wanted to make ice cream and it ended up defrosting into something horrid. On rereading the label it said to only freeze the cream if whipped. Now I have four pots of this cream in the freezer and I'm loathe to throw it away has anyone got any ideas what I can do with it because I cant use it like normal cream because its solid and really grainy when defrosted.I tried it to make ice cream yesterday and whilst it works I could use it for that it has a slightly grainy texture to it

Not sure, but could you try and make butter from it? It sounds like it's going to be fairly inedible either way so you're not really loosing much by trying to make some butter ...

I defrosted the cream today and have to say it made perfectly normal butter. It didnt look normal all the way through the whipping stage though but it ended up the same.So I havent wasted all that money after all.So thankyou Gingernutmeg I would never have thought of making butter with it:beer:
