i think most people opt for some sort of classical stuff while guests arrive so they can still chat over it.
our choices are:
entrance: Dean Martin, Everybody Loves Somebody
register: Have I told you lately, Rod stewart
exit: Better together, Jack Johnson
quite a mixture
HTH
I know
I didn't think it would be so hard to chose and apparently you are only allowed certain music, nothing religious or to do with god and heaven etc.

I agree - it's a terribly emotional piece that I never tire of hearing. There's so many lovely pieces of classical music that would do for a wedding too - I love 'The Lark Ascending' by Vaughan Williams, or Gymnopedies by Erik Satie. I think you have to be careful not to be too corny when choosing contemporary pop songs, there's a lovely song called 'I Got You' by Split Enz - probably from about 1981 (Crowded House in an earlier form) which would have been 'our song' at our wedding had we not had a jazz band! Say a Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin, Come Away with Me, Norah Jones, Thank You by Dido, The Blowers Daughter by Damien Rice (the song at the beginning of the Jude Law movie Closer, Head Over Heels by Tears for Fears, You Do Something to Me, Paul Weller, Evergreen or All Time Love by Will Young, Nothing Compares to You - Sinead O'Connor ( a real tearjerker), If we're getting really soppy Annies Song by John Denver or Lady by him too. A bit more modern is Breathless by Shane WArd or Addicted by Enrique Iglesias (by the weay if I was getting married my OH would probably kill himself laughing at my suggestions but I'm a very soppy one at heart!), Patience by Take That, Move Closer by Phyllis Nelson, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack, Misty Blue (can't remember some old jazz singer), Too Lost in You by the Sugababes, I'm Ready By Bryan Adams etc (just looking at what I have on my ipod) Have fun choosing!0 -
I had a civil ceremony at a country house hotel and we had
Entrance - I Can't Help Falling in Love (Darren Hayes)
Signing - I knew I loved your Before I met you and Truly Madly Deeply (Savage Garden)
And we BOUNCED out to Mr Blue Sky (ELO)
Our registrar wasn't very strict at all about song choices. We couldn't have religious music or songs but stuff like Robbie Williams Angels was 100% fine.It all works out good in the end.If it's not good, it's not the end!0 -
I want to go up the aisle to Let's Get Married by the Proclaimers and go back down to 500 Miles (also Proclaimers), but only the da da da chorusy bit that they play at footie matches when Scotland score iykwim!!
Not sure OH will agree as he's English!!!0 -

I always thought it had to be 'your song' and sad as it is we don't have one really! really must think..
Good luck and let us know what you choose.x0 -
how about Man & wife by Michelle Featherstone
