Please could someone advise me......
I was working on my PC last night at home and I had a connection error with the internet. I tried to repair the connection (as I have done before) but before I knew it my internet icon had disappeared and I don't know how to find it.
Does anyone know (a) what I have done, and (b) how I can get reconnected.
FYI, my ISP is Sky and it is a wireless connection.
Thanks in advance

When you say internet icon do you mean the 2 small monitors icon that appears down at the bottom right Taskbar
It sounds like you may have turned off your wireless internet
Depending which operating system you are using you just need to re-enable/turn on your wireless internet
In XP go to start/my network places & click on network connections
You should be able to right click on the relevant icon for your connect and turn it back on from there0 -
Thanks Shaun, but it is the actual icon that has disappeared (on the right hand side of the screen) not the connection. I'm not at all technical so sorry if I'm not giving enough info.YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

Can you access it from the start menu and drag the icon to the desktop?"...IT'S FRUITY!"0

Start--->Programs--->Internet Explorer
Right click, select create shortcut
Then drag this to the deskstop and a shortcut should appear."...IT'S FRUITY!"0 -
Is it xp? and is it the 2 small pc monitors as Shaun asked about....
I take it you are on the internet from the same pc you are talking about. You can access your connection through, control panel and then network connections..........also if you right click an empty blue area on your taskbar then click properties ... then customize..... you might have disabled it from showing.... in the task bar..... here you can re-enable it.... juts highlight what you want, a drop down box appears and you can select from there
I have nothing better to do!!!!

Thanks Startrekker, but I wasn't on the same computer......but YEA, the icon has reappeared tonight so I can get my fix on MSE. I have absolutely no idea what happened last night but the whole thing seemed to go t*ts up on me and, not being at all technical, thought that it would need some major repair.
Thanks for all your help.....I know where to come next time something drops off(!)
