Round Two with debt collectors

Last year my OH had a couple of months of hassle from Capquest regarding an old debt with Natwest for £1,200. The debt was NOT his, but something his ex-girlfriend had taken out fraudulently in their joint names, and the statements showed she was using long after they split up too.
Anyway - thanks to the helpful precedents here we requested the signed agreement for the original debt, and proof that they had authority to chase it. Neither document appeared and they sent a letter saying we wouldn't be hearing anything else from them.
Well, my OH gets another call today from another company about exactly the same debt!!!!
Can this just go on forever?? Why was it not registered that this debt had nothing to do with him? It's obviously just been sold on again... Do we have to keep sending £1 postal orders to every blinking company that buys this debt?!!

Sadly it seems that way, you should report them to Trading Standards and the OFT, although they dont seem to act that strongly. In your particular case, it would appear that fraud has been committed, in which case you may want to consider involving the Police[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j
Target: Stay debt free0
