When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Am off work today and instead of going the shops, which usually I'd always do on a spare day, I have stayed in and done lots of housework as well as doing surveys and competitions!!!
Will have something out of the freezer for tea so no need to go the shops
Not bought a newspaper as can read the news online
Also looked for some sources of second income and sorted some clothes to sell on ebayMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0 -

Today I have- brought in lunch from home (reduced pizza 49p from 3.59 in sainsburys last night, half for me! I love bargain lunches
) - Checked internet banking, nothing going on
- Done a piggy click
- Updated spreadsheet and started planning savings for when I'm debt free in 10 months time - good motivator as that 10 months could slip so easily!
- checked for mystery shops, nothing yet
- had a no spend day - dinner is last night's spicy bean stew and garlic bread, stew recipe from a sainsbury's tomato puree pack but it was a cracker! We are trying to have a couple of meat free days a week and also trying to do a new recipe every week

I was up and at it fairly early, the joys of a partner who works from home and uses the computer which is in our bedroom, so no chance of a lie in. Figured i'd start it as was looking for the thread for ages and i don't feel right unless i've posted what i'm going to do or have done!:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

Hello!
In a bit of a blah mood today. Just had an full blown argument
on the phone with a colleague at work and trying to get back in work modee again now.
Did some good bits this morning though:
- listed a couple CDs on ebay
- have been meaning to renew my AA membership (for the car, not booze!
), but after haggling the best price was £86. Via quidco, I could potentially get £21 back for a new RAC membership, so I looked on their site, decided to downgrade the service (just towing to a garage, not your destination) plus got a discount for buying it online, so it was £33 (instead of £44). So with the quidco cashback, I should get a year with the RAC for £12. Much better!
- brought lunch to work from home
- got a company-paid-for dinner/drinks out tonight
- checked quidco
- checked mystery shops, but none yet
- did a few small Toluna survey clicksDebt - Loan: £1150 C/C: £4763 @ 0%.0 -
Well today I paid £436 off my credit card! I'm so chuffed! Also had lunch out- my sister's treat bless her.Using lib. computer again.Looked into getting Tiscali broadband via quidco as I need net access for when the baby's born- won't be out and about as much then!Store cupboard dinner tonight from my food planner menu- which is going really well this month! Will go to ASDA later to pick up my free mum to be pack with lots of vouchers and free stuff...2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100

We wanted to paint our conservatory to freshen it up a bit and fancied yellow. We had a look in B&Q at the many shades and then remembered we had some white emulsion and some bright yellow emulsion in the garage. We mixed the white into the yellow and have used this to do our painting with no spend at all!!Official DFW Nerd Club Member no 694
