Hi, this is a great topic, but it appears I am not going to the same Boots as you :( I never see clearance stuff, I looked for the Bourjois tweezers and I couldn't find them... and you seem to find lots of bargains and I don't :(
I live in NW London and usually go in Hammersmith Boots (in Sheperds Bush is a small one) or sometimes in Brent Cross mall, but I can go in others if you have any sugestions for me where is more likely to find clearance stuff...

Asked this yesterday but no reply unless I missed it (this thread moves sooooo fast!)...

I need some advice on good products for a No 7 gift basket - I need moisturisers and something anti-wrinkly - preferably non-greasy.

I learnt from you to "have" a baby and I received the booklet with coupons and I am not using almost nothing (maybe the Olay if it will be any offer for the moisturizer, a till spit or something). Anyway if you need the vouchers for baby stuff I can post them to someone. Just ask.

I'm not sure who I'd ask about the Retinol, as the SAs won't know. My face wipes don't have Retinol in them. You might want to check around online (here are the reviews I found that mention a bad reaction when using ROC Retin-Ox Correxion, if that helps - the first three reviewers liked it, and if you scroll down the other six had bad reactions and burning skin). Maybe ask your GP if you should use it?

Had a word with GP last week, but only allowed about 6 minutes (?) lol, so couldn't go into the ins and outs of P&P, but I was finally given a prescription for some cream. After having the rash for weeks, it disappeared after 3 applications!

The local No7 SA did mention what it was that causes the reaction, but memory was as usual - non-existant lol, but the ingredient sounded like Retinol ;)

    Thanks for the link skibster.

Or else nothing at all if Mr Boots decided to ignore you this time! Fingers crossed for the next one!

Hi clare+3 :) I've never had any mailings in 4 years, apart from some HC ones a couple of weeks ago  lol.

How does anyone get them? Ring CS?

They have the Gorgeous reusable Bags in Northampton- Grosvenor Centre. Had to get one they are fab. Also they had a couple of the Bourjois tweezers and at least eight of the Bourjois sharpeners. Not much clearance but some nail files, kits etc by the tills downstairs (near perfume counters) HTH
  • Went to bluewater today...They have completely sold out (in a day) of the Gorgeous bags! O well...managed to get:

    bobbypins kirby grips pack 38p
    bling bag £4
Mark hill long hair paddle brush £3

Total = £7.38 (paid with points)

    Shop 2:

MF GWP (pink one from last summer)
    MF lip gloss

    Total £6.99
Used: 300pts on MF lip gloss (from pink and black GWP from around mothers day)

Bluewater had lots of bourjois tweezers, nail files, sharpeners, nail polish remover etc but none of them would go thro the till with the £2 till spit :S

Went to watford ydy...nothing much of interest in the clearance section.
They did have the bourjois sharpeners (which did go thro the till with the till spit) and MF GWPs but the SA wouldn't let me have it...doesn't matter!

    Hope all are well :D

    Hi
I'm fairly new to all this bootsing malarky
which is the best boots to go to in Sheffield to get the deals?
    thanks

Hi, I go to all the boots in sheffield regularly and for stock, obviously the big one in medowhall is the place to go. Even though it's one floor it's massive and has self service tills (and photo/pharmacy ones wayyyyy at the back away from the prying eyes of the No7 SAs - watch out for the one who told me it was 'stealing' to be using the high lights voucher with the £5 off No7  think she's the manager of No7) but last time I was there there was no clearance section, though it would take a long time to look through the whole store...

For clearance, the smaller one on west street used to have some shelves but they've now dissappeared. The moor is the best (perhaps only :() place to go for clearance stuff but last time there wasn't that much, although there were a few shelves dotted about the place suggesting they might sometimes have more.

The big boots in town doesn't have a clearance section either although you can sometimes find items with clearance stickers on the normal shelves. Right now a lot of the men's products upstairs are reduced, and some are also on 342.

Voucher wise, I've found most SAs to be happy with all the vouchers you give them - except of course that horrible No7 manager in medowhall, and you might want to avoid the No7 SAs in boots in town too. Oh, and the photography manager in the boots in town doesn't like more than 1 voucher per transaction either. Probably best to avoid anyone who looks like a manager!

    Phew, hope that helps!
;) One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you! ;)

    3) PARENTING CLUB
You can join the parenting club online (http://www.bootsparentingclub.com/) or in-store (and they make no attempt to confirm if you are genuinely pregnant.)
The best plan is to claim you are less than 28 weeks pregnant when you join (by entering appropriate due date). You then receive all offers, starting with a 'Little Book of Treats'.

THESE are the vouchers you receive when you are expecting.
THESE are the vouchers you receive when your baby is 3mnths.
THESE are the vouchers you receive when your baby is 6mnths and also a set you receive when your baby is 12mnths

    .

I joined the parenting club a mounth ago (my fake baby was "due" in at the end of april) so I don't know in which category they put me: expecting or 3 months...
but my book of vouchers is not as good as you say here.
    I have:
    - save £5 on the Boots steam steriliser
    - 500 points on the boots manual breast pump
    - save £10 on the graco mosaic travel system
    - half price on boots expert maternity & baby skincare ranges
    - 500 points on bt digital baby monitor
    - double advantage card points on children clothing
    - 3 for £3 on heinz fruty custard pots
    - 50 points on dentinox
    - 5 free photos when you use the photo kiosk
    - bogof on always and alldays
    - free olay cleansing wipes, cleasing milk toner or face wash when you buy total effects moisurizer
    - 1500 points when you spend £30 on oral b electric toothbrush

So... thats all ... no interesting stuff about cosmetics...

Is it facial stuff or body you are after? The cocooning body butter & hand saviour are both brill. On 342 too so a good time to buy.

    CBB £12.50
    HS £8.50 ( ish )

If it's face stuff I'll stand back as I nothing about that side of it.

I don't mind - I'll happily do face & body. I jokingly said I'd do her a No 7 basket and her face lit up - so that's one birthday idea sorted!

Are the £5 vouchers you all mention PC? I've never received a mailing since I moved house and phone calls to CS haven't managed to get them restarted so I'm lost on that one. Can they be got on ebay?
