Hi all, I am having so many problems getting my brand new computer up and running that I am at the point of throwing in the bin.
When I put it on the first thing that comes on the screen is the message 'RGB-no input signal'. So what does this mean please. All the cables and things I have seem to be in the right places and there are no more in the box.
Any help would be welcome.

Are you getting a picture at all?
If, so, don't worry about it, it sounds like your monitor has two inputs, you can use DVI or VGA. You only need one connected, your monitor just says that the one has no signal, which as there's nothing connected to that input, it's true.
Some monitors flick back and forth a few times and the same message might come up several times.
Edit: as below, if the monitor is switched on before the PC if will come up with that message, if it usually uses that input. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
This usually comes on if you turn the screen on but not the PC. Either that or a cable isnt plugged in?You killed me scooter!!0

As Stan says, the monitor will display that message when powered on but no power to the PC. Does it start normally afterwards?
If it's new, you should have a manual for the monitor - most monitors autoselect the video source (VGA/DVI) when they receive a signal from the PC, but it's possible that your monitor has been set to be 'fixed' to the wrong source - hopefully, you should have an 'input' or 'source' button on the monitor to manually switch between the sources to overcome this.
Please post the model of PC and monitor if you still have problems.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0
