basic bank account?

Hi there everyone,

I need a decent bank account, but it will more than likely be a basic one,as my current account with Lloyds TSB was closed a while ago.I have one CCJ and most of my cards etc are on payment plans. Can anyone recommend one that I may be able to get - maybe one that allows direct debits if possible......and what about stuff like paypal, and using a card to purchase stuff, how do I stand with that??

Any help and advice would be appreciated as I need to sort something out soon!
Many thanks in advance:beer:

    Hi

I have a step a/c with Nat West, basic bank a/c no OD, no visa, but allows DD, my monthly DD to payplan also comes out of that a/c.

    Trust this helps.,

I've just taken out a Cashminder account with the Co-op. It allows direct debits / standing orders and has an Electron card and online banking.
Finally learning to deal with problems rather than ignoring them - this is a BIG deal for me! :o

Making token payments only due to low income - but I'm working on it!!!

I have a nationwide basic account. you get a cashcard and it allows s/o and dd's. Also as Nationwide is not linked to anyone as long as you dont have a debt with them your money is safe.

check to see what credit cards you have and make sure the bank you choose is not linked in anyway to one of your cards, hence thats why i choose Nationwide
