what would you consider to be a good variable rate ATM?

We are on a base rate tracker with Halifax, just starting our 4th year on this deal.
What would you consider to be a good variable rate at the moment? i.e. under 6%
We are not in any rush to changed and we can afford a rate rise (so are prepared to take the risk of one) y continuing to be on a tracker/variable rate mortgage.

Yes anything under 6% is good at the mo.
The market seems to suggest at least one more 1/4% drop in the coming months so if the deal is good with the Halifax - say base plus 0.4% I'd stick with it - does it have an expiry date or is it a tracker for life?"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him no good."(Samuel Johnson 1709-1784)

If you mean pure variable rate (i.e. SVR), then HSBC is hard to beat (IMVHO).
Guaranteed to be less than 1% above BOE rate. A tracker more or less.
If there's a better SVR out there, I would love to know.Tough times never last longer than tough people.0
