County court advice

Hi
Need a bit of info/advice from anyone who knows about filing a defense to a county court action.
Basically I am getting sued by a former franchisor (famous driving school) - I wanted out - they wanted me out and one day they asked me to leave (I was sooo happy) and wanted the car back that day etc...
After this was finished they then turned around and demanded that I still pay out the rest of the contract. My contract said they can give me 4 weeks notice (they didn't but if both want out earlier whats the issue?) but if I want out I have to do full contract period - but they terminated not me ??????
Even in their submissions to the court the claimant attached a computer profile report that shows the manager authorising the termination - yet they still are pursuing the case ?
Someone suggested I write a letter to the judge asking for the case to be thrown out on the "burden of proof" / "abuse of process" basis but tbh I don't have a clue how to word it with the relevant legal jargon.
Any expericenced plp can throw me some pointers ?
Thx
