How can I get my money back?

I recently purchased a course from ICS and paid in full with a promotional code so I managed to get the cost down to 300 something pounds, i had a conformation email saying that that amount had been charged to the card. Anyway on the weekend I checked my bank account to see if it had gone through, and yes the same amount had been taken.

However when I recieved my course materials I noticed on the invoice that they had taken 400 something pounds, thinking this was a misprint I investigated on my account status on the ics website, and there it said that I have paid 400 something pounds.

How can they do that? I have sent them an email asking why they have done that as I wanted something in writing, but haven't had a reply yet.

I hope someone can help please!

Has £300 been taken from your bank account or £400?

If £300 has been taken, simply write to ICS and ask for confirmation that no further funds will be taken.

If £400 has been taken, then a letter explaining the situation and the overpayment error on their part should do the trick.

  • They've taken 400 when they should have taken 300. I emailed them the other day asking why they have taken 400 when i already paid the full amount due.

Shall I write them a letter then?

    Thanks

I would write a letter, then 7 days later, follow it up with a phone call. If you have no joy then write another letter saying if it is not refunded within a further 7 days (or whatever) you will take the case to trading standards.

    Good luck
