I have recently discovered that I've not been signed up to the works pensions scheme, even though I have paperwork etc for it, the final pieces weren't sent off.

So now, I'm in the process of looking at a private pension scheme, but I wanted to know if anyone has any advaice on what to look for in the scheme, whats the best type to go for, what questions to ask, etc... ?

Nope. I've been told (but have yet to confirm) that you only get the option once when you start, then again 3 years later, and so on...

That doesn't sound right to be, but i'm having trouble proving it wrong.

When you say the final papers weren't sent off, do you mean that YOU didn't send them, or somebody else in your company? If that is the case, I think you should write to the Trustees of the scheme to request that you be allowed into the scheme at this slightly later date.
