    Hi Mary,

Please don't dispair, there are always things that can be done.

I do think you should have a serious look at your SOA and make sure everything is covered. Car maintenance is very low and there is nothing for clothes and shoes for the children, dentist appointment, haircuts etc. These are essential expenditure when you have children and need to be covered in your SOA, if they are not you will find that you have over committed yourself and may break your DMP which could make the situation worse. A small amount put aside for birthday/christmas presents/days out for the kids is also recommended.

I would imagine that expenses like this are what the debt charities are using in your figures rather than a straight £600 for food etc.

Your DMP must be sustainable and I don't think a DMP based on your current SOA will be sustainable, you have no room for manourver (SP).

Do you have any equity in your house? I know that you don't want to leave where you are but is selling up an then renting for a fresh start an option?

I'd recommend looking at cancelling and if possible claiming back the PPI on the loan. Do you have any charges on the credit cards that you can claim back to reduce the totals owing?

Keep posting and you will find a solution.

Hi Its Mary B Just Wanted To Let You Know That After Remortgaging I Managed To Pay Three Creditors And Now Owe £66000 I Know It Is A Lot Of Money But After Realising That Our Income Had An Extra £130.00 A Month We Were Able To Do A Dmp With Cccs And For The First Time In My Life Was Told I Should Have At Least £373.00 A Month For Housekeeping . We Are Now In The Process Of Opening A Basic Bank Account And Writing To Creditors Of Our Dmp Plan. Thanks For Everything. I Know It Will Take For Ever To Pay Our Debts But At Least There Is Someone Who Can Help Me. I Hope The Cccs Will Help Me Negotiate Frozen Interest And Let A Poor Family Of Six Try And Live Some Kind Of Normal Life. Thanks To Everyone Who Helped Me In The Forum. I Needed Support And You Gave It To Me. I Hope My Life Can Move Forward And The Creditors Have Some Heart In Helping An Ordinary Family Have Some Kind Of Life. Although There Will Be No Luxuries For Us While We Are In The Dmp It Has Given Me A Lesson In Life. Don't Ever Spend What You Don't Have. Cash Is The Only Thing I Will Ever Use Form Now On. If I Can Ever Win Any Money I Will Give My Creditors Every Penny Back And The Cccs A Donation.thanks To Everyone And Matthew At Cccs Who Gave Me The Courage To Carry On. I Know My Life Is Going To Be Very Hard But I Hope There Will Be A Light At The End Of The Tunnel And I Eventually Get My Life Back. Now Is A Very Scary Time For Me Not Knowing What Is Going To Happen. I Just Hope I Can Be Brave And Face The Consequences. I Will Keep You Posted If You Are Interested

Still not sure why you won't consider bankrupcy - is it the perceived stigma attached to it?

Because she wants to pay the debts back and not lose her home - a very comendable thing if you ask me.

backtomum, my sentiments exactly. I don't want to consider bankruptcy either. I don't want to lose my home which I will if I go bankrupt and I can't afford to rent anywhere on my own.

I agree....it is quite difficult to read, but is that all that you can offer this poor lady? Really.... if all you can do is criticize her typing/font/whatever, then please.... keep it to yourself.
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

I woud have loved to offer help and advice, unfortunately it was just too difficult to read The Huge Tracts Of Capalised Text Without Even A Paragraph break to make it easier. Some of us read the forum on small laptop screens, it just means when people like the OP try and make it all pretty with capitals it just makes it too hard to read.

I honestly can say, after trying to read about 3 lines of the OP I just gave up.
