@ CONCHO
Sent a quick reply, been out all day, and come back to this massive flare up!

margaretclare wrote:I agree with Ember and meanmachine. Like Ember, I'm happy, I'm reasonably well-off, and the advice I give (sorry it's not wanted) is from a lifetime of experience. Which you might get from your Mum and Dad just the same!
I agree with others, there is no need to be nasty, and there is also no need for blasphemy.

What nastyness! Blasphemy are you talking about! Have you gone mad! Found your advice of no use to me so please stop posting replies on here (do you own the forum) I don't care if your well off or not and I don't want advice from my Mum or Dad, you don't know me & you don't know my relationship with them so just stop right there. You two are quite crazy and you need to back off & calm down. I just wanted to know what lenders will look at those sort of figures, not a moral lecture. Flipping hell sweet Jesus & omg (theres your blasphemy)

Concho! don't forget to tie your shoe laces properly, look both ways before crossing the road and if you fall and give your knee a nasty graze washing it well with water and apply a clean plaster!
Also on cold mornings eat porridge and wear a warm scarf....blah blah blah!

CONCHO, I do not know who will lend you the money, but I went to an IFA (who didn't charge of course!) and they were able to sort my mortgage out without any hassle. I would suggest that depending on your occupation (s) there shouldn't be too much trouble borrowing that amount. As for £1400 a month in repayments, is that a lot? After all how many people shell out £600+ a month for a room in a flat? I would assume a £345,000 house is nice and well worth the money. But I suppose depending on where you are looking to live, may well not be that great compared to other areas in the country.
As for this forum, it is the best and give it a chance. There is plenty of good advice given by professionals who ask for nothing in return and of course people also post about cheap buys etc. Good luck0 -

Blimey - Concho you really need to get a life - People are trying to help you here!
It's up to you though ... it's quite amusing how you've reacted .. it's a bit like my teenage sister. She asks for advice but then when she doesn't like the answer she gets mad because she knows the people giving advice are right.
Good luck and i hope for your sake no one lends you that much.
EJSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -
Regardless of which forum/newsgroup this was posted to, you'd have got pretty much the same responses elsewhere. To most people it looks like a bad idea whether or not they actually know your circumstances. Just human instinct to respond as people have done (whether rightly or wrongly to do so, that's just peoples opinion)
Nationwide are sometimes slightly higher lenders on affordability but even assuming no outstanding debts they only suggest £203k on their calculator0 -
I don't actually think the multiples, in isolation, are that insane.
51K against £220K is OK.
But your post wasn't in isolation - you already have debts, it's based on a joint, not multiple income, etc etc.
The comment about kids wasn't meant to be personal. It relates to the fact that, actually, since you don't have kids, there's a chance you might drop sprogs in the future.
Suddenly a £51K income has halved and you've gone from borrowing 4 times your household income to eight times. And that really would cause you stress - much more than this thread has.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide.0 -
Thanks for the advice I asked for, whoever gave it to me. Thanks for reporting me as well! although I don't really know why, (that seems childish to me, like going to the headteacher). For the record my wife and I can't have any kids, which didnt have anything to do with a finacial website but after your responces It seems I obviously need to divulge this information. Oh yes and if you need to know I had 2 wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago under general anesthetic & I have an infection in my leg at the moment, hope this helps.0
