ive been reading these forums for months now and ive noticed that if a debts over 6 yrs it doesnt need to be paid i had an account with natwest over 10 yrs ago @ theyre now chasing me for money, when i tried to get in touch with them a few yrs ago they said they had no record of my account now theyre trying to get me to pay mainly just charges they added to the account, what do i do? any help will be appreciated.

It depends on the last ime you made any payment on this account.
If it was more than 6 years ago and there is no ccj then you will not be liable to pay this by law0 -
Agree with silk.
As long as the debt is not owed to the government/council and is not attached to land, the debt is statute barred after 6 years if you have not made any payments towards it in that time or acknowledged the debt in writing.
