When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

I have my mystery shopping 'mission' today!
I'll get £40 for doing it too and I don't even have to leave the house!
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

Hey!
I love these threads! I was doing a spending diary which was really disheartening me so my plan is to start up alongside it, a 'saving' diary like this thread, to show me where I am saving money and encourage me to keep it up when it's feeling difficult.
* I am putting off doing a 'big shop' this week by doing storecupboard stuff (today would be the day I would go shopping.)
* Transferring ebay/Paypal money to my current account
* More house tidying whilst girls are at my mum and dads to find stuff to ebay
* Quiet evening in with OH
* Speaking to nursery to sort out giving notice on DD2's place
* Transferring rest of credit card balance to new 0% card
* Cancelling old direct debit for contact lenses
I'm sure there's some more and I might not get through all of these today so they might carry on til tomorrow but now I have a list to check up on!Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63
