Sky Plus & dvd recorder (merged threads)

I'm thinking about buying husband a dvd recorder for his birthday but I need some help. I have about £150.00 to spend. We cannot receive freeview in our area. We already have sky plus.
Any advise gratefully received.

No Worries, as long as the dvd recorder can record from the scart input, no issues at all for backing up from sky+. Only issue I ever encounter is finding the time to transfer from sky+ to the dvd recorder as this needs to happen in real time, in a similar way to recording from the tv normally.

I have had two panasonic dvd recorders and they are cracking, although are at the pricier end of the market.
