Food Budget £100

Hi all,

Can someone help me out with my food budget.. I buy once a month at Asda last month spent £100 but feeling like im running out of food too quick and my next food shop isnt till the 26th (Pay Day)

Firstly....Online Shopping, Who is generally the cheapest/Best Value

Secondly.... Anyone else noticed asda keeps running out of things. At the moment the only mince they have is organic  .

Thanks

    Hi Alamaya

I use Tesco normally, though am using asda this time around. Found there was all sorts of stuff I could do with that they don't have in, like dried yeast! There are also quite a lot of codes available for money off.

Have you thought about getting a fortnightly delivery instead of monthly? We recently started doing it, and found we haven't run out of nearly as much.

Finally, bob up a list of what you've got in and I'm sure someone will be around to show how far you can stretch it.

i buy shopping online once a month pay day - pay day, the fresh stuff does run out after a couple of weeks because obviously some of it would be pretty rank after a month _pale_ i get around this by gaging how long the fresh stuff will last and getting enough of it, then spending the last week or two eating tinned and frozen fruit/veg. i freeze milk and bread although i do make 90% of our bread. i find asda is the best value but if there are codes available i switch in a shot :rotfl:
are you shopping just for yourself? if so £100 should be loads to make plenty of good wholesome meals. try and make your meals stretch as far as you can by adding grated carrot/lentils/beans/oats wherever possible.
before you go shopping again sit down and work out what meals you will be eating so that theres no waste and no static stuff sat in your cupboards for months. buy yourself ingredients to bake cakes and biscuits etc as these really can bump up your bill if you have a sweet tooth like my oh
have a stab at batch cooking and freeze portions in tubs for later use, this saves me time and effort and money as its cheaper to cook big vats of stuff as you can bulk it out, it saves me spending every evening stood at the cooker and at the sink washing up.
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance! :p
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money
