CCJ not satisfied?

Hello,
I have just joined this forum as I would llike an answer to my question, I have done a quick search but nothing came up in the the first page that seemed to answer it, if you know of a post please point me to it.
Here is my question:
I was issued a CCJ in Nov 2001, my finances were in such a state I never got around to trying to sttle it until last year but I got into a circle of contacting the solicitor of the claimant, who told me I should contact one court as they were not dealing with the case anymore, who then told me to contact another court, who then told me to contact the solicitor again.
Now it still has not been satisfied and it has been over the six years after which satisfied CCJ's get wiped off my record.
Would an un-satisfied CCJ get wiped also? And would it still leave a mark that credit scorers could use against me?

Thank you in advance for you help.

Alan

My understanding is this, officially, according to the OFT, if there has been no contact / payment after 6 years, the debt becomes “Statue Barred”

Now, saying that, I have just been traced following a CCJ issued in 1997, I informed the debt company, my debt was “Statue Barred” and I would not be acknowledging the debt.

The debt company wrote back stating, it's not “Statue Barred” as a CCJ was issued.

Having taken advice, as the debt is now over 6 years old, they debt is unenforceable without taking leave of the court, something I have informed the debt company of.

Simailr situation, i was very silly with cash many yrs ago.. From my OWN situation i had a ccj dated aug 2000. I made NO attempt to contact or pay.(please don't judge!) And YES i can confirm 110% that it came off my credit file....

Why not get paid to check your credit report... Go via topcashback.co.uk
or just type in creditexpert.co.uk (in which you will have to pay). Give the req. details and have a look. It cost 6.95 ish a month... But sign up for the first month is free (PLEASE CHECK THIS) Then cancel..

    I hope this helps.....

You may want to be careful with that CCJ. As i understand it, the company has 6 years from the date a CCJ is issued to enforce the debt. But the CCJ cannot be statute barred. I believe if the CCJ is over 6 years old, the creditor may need the court's permission to enforce the debt.

I'd contact one of the free debt charities for clarification though.

    Hello George

Thanks, the CCJ was issued in 1997, for reasons I won't go into now, I had no knoweledge of it until 2 weeks ago.

I have spoken to National Debtline, who advised me the debt is unenforceable without leave of the court.

I have informed the debt company of that, although they are not willing to pay any attention to it.
