how to get my credit rating back

hi a couple of years ago i defaulted on a naywest credit card. i have just looked at my credit report and it is this that is holding me back fro getting most decent credit cards. i have another natwest credit card is there anything i can to to remove the old one form my credit score ? thanks

    I think they stay on there for 6 years to be honest. How often do you use the other Natwest credit card? The best thing to do is to buy a little on it every month and pay it off in full every month so proving you are worthy of credit. You may be able to get a 'not decent credit card' and do the same thing ie buy stuff and pay it off each month until your credit rating improves enough to get a better card. The other main problem is of course lenders being a lot more cautious (well that's what they say on the tv) so it's probably not helping either. Sorry I can't be more help.
