Just ordered mine, it was very quick and simple and the lady on the phone was very nice. She asked if i wanted to order the next 2 issues for 50p each but i said i hadn't read it before so will read this one first. She also said that the promotion of 50p per issue will be running long term.

Got through very quickly. They also start asking for name, email address etc to send you more stuff but just say no to it all if you don't want to be bothered by them.

I am surprised that more people did not go onto www.saynoto0870.com to find an alternative geographic landline number. While the 0844 number was not recognised, when I typed in "BBC" it produced a long list of numbers including several for BBC Magazines. The one I chose was 01795 414724, I was given 2 options, selected option 1 and was answered immediately by a real person who knew all about the free magazine offer. I am told one is now on its way to me.

Absolutely, I posted yesterday with the alternative number but only a couple of people seem to have picked up on it! No way am I phoning an 0844 number which could possibly cost more than the magazine if I was held in a queue long enough.

Just ordered mine in under 2 mins.

I got an email direct from BBC about this - with an 0845 number not 0844! 3.5 - 5p a minute so I got the magazine for less than 15p! :j

Just phoned that number today. Got through straight away and was on the phone less than three minutes. Was told I'd be sent the July issue which will be with me at the beginning of June. I'll forget I ordered it! I declined the offer of the two for £1 ones as I've done these things before and had trouble trying to cancel in time.

Just noticed that I last posted on 18/8/06!! I read the tips all the time too!

Did anyone ever get their free copy of Olive? Never got mine, and it must have been a month since i called.

Oh well. I guess nothing is ever free.
