The book thread

Every so often someone mentions a really good OS book (cookery, interior design, frugal living etc). The trouble is that I always forget to jot down the title and then can't remember which thread it's on either.

So I wondered if it would be useful to have a book thread? The idea would be for people to list the title and author of their favourite OS book, together with a line or two about the book's contents.
