Just when i thought i was getting myself sorted out after having fallen off the DFW wagon i got 2 letters through the post.
Both from the council. First one is a council tax bill. I have paid 1/2 of it, but in my stupid month i forgot to pay the other 1/2 (£300) and now they are threatening me with baliffs etc. The second one is an apparant rent payment that has been missed, but my rent goes out on a DD, and its an odd amount (a full months rent plus an extra amount) which doesnt seem right.
Urgh... sorry i will be calling them up tomorrow, but i just feel as if its one thing after another again.

Don't panic!
Phone the council, they nearly always send out a standard letter talking about bailiffs etc but as long as you arrange to pay they will be fine.
Make that call about the rent as well. You can show with bank statements that you have paid, it sounds like a mistake to me.
Now sit back, take a deep breath and have a cuppa. I've got biscuits here as well if you want one!Total debt at LB Moment (Nov 2007) = £6583 £4649 20.03.09
£5060 Black horse Loan - £4114 as of 20.03.09
£940 o/d with hsbc - -£535 as of 20.03.090 -
Call up the council. Most councils will work with you to come to an agreement about payments. The bailiffs threat is only to scare you into action.....DO NOT neglect this......call them up and you may be pleasantly surprised.....ignoring it is the worst possible thing you can do0

Just all comes when you have no money!! :rotfl: Which is most of the time!

Can I have a biccie too? Don't worry. Councils want their money (which is fair enough) but often don't want to be seen to be being hard on those who are struggling so will most times prefer to come to an arrangement before taking any heavy handed action on their residents. Ignoring them will leave them no choice but the hard line approach but if you call them up and discuss (keeping times, dates, names etc) you can prove that you have availed yourself and have taken active steps to resolve it0

If you dont want to wait til tomorrow, you can probably google the phone number you need and give their your name and address details etc as opposed to an account number and get it sorted this afternoon. I just did that re a credit card.Debt - Loan: £1150 C/C: £4763 @ 0%.0
