Envelope Stuffing Question

Hi there,

Between the months of June and August this year I need an income.

It would be preferable for me to work from home as I am moving house in August and need to be around as much as possible to deal with various things to do with the move.

As such, I was looking into envelope stuffing! Fun, I know, but I'm quite desperate! I know that there are loads of scams around and I was wondering whether anyone had had experience with a legitimate company. If so, I was wondering how much they pay? How do I get started? And what were your general experiences?

At the moment I am registered with most survey websites under the sun, but these only provide a tiny income and most deal in rewards vouchers, which are great, but they don't exactly pay the bills!!

Any comments/ thoughts are most welcome.

Thank you

Most of these are a scam. You send a SASE for an info pack. The info pack comes telling you about how much you can make "stuffing envelopes from home" and for more info send £x to buy into it. You send £x and get a pamphlet telling you to place an ad in the paper about stuffing envelopes from home. When people reply via a SASE, you tell them to send £x to learn more. If/when they send £x, you tell them to place an ad in the paper and so on and on....

Saying that, I did have a colleague who used to stuff envelopes for a shopping channel, but it only paid minimum wage and you had to be on site ie. no working from home

  • Thank you red devil. I knew that there were scams around but I wasn't entirely aware of how they worked.

I thought it was one person sitting in an office having all the people send them £x for an info pack and then never sending them. I didn't realise it was a sort of chain thing.

Looks like I might just have to brave it and get a job outside of my house!

Pretty much any company that needs anything stuffing in an envelope uses a machine, or lots of machines.
Some fulfilment houses get jobs where they need to stuff odd shapped mailings, by hand, into envelopes, but they do those on site.

Jobs that you can do at home that can earn you money, and where you don't need quailifications, but might need experience / registration / or training include.

    Telephone / Text sex lines
    Ironing
    Proof reading
    Writing
    Child minding
    Hypnotherapy
    Accupuncture
    beauty therapy

    ect
  • Thank you ianmr. I'm not really put off by needing to have experience or being qualified...I have got quite a lot of experience doing various jobs and am well educated, I just don't want to have to do training for a temporary job (seems a bit pointless!).

I have had a look at a few writing and proof reading sites and I think I will register for some and see how I get on. Apart from that:
    there are loads of ironing companies around my area and I don't drive;
I know nothing about beauty therapy
I don't believe in alternative therapies
    I hate children
I think sex lines are akin to prostitution.

But hey, I am ever the opimist!!

Seriously, though, thank you for your comment. I really do appreciate any thoughts/ comments.

I think sex lines are akin to prostitution.

    No probs...

You could also say that going out with a guy and expecting him to pay for all the meals, thru bath product advertising, erotic writing, page three modelling, all the way to trafficking 16 year old romanians : are all akin to prostitution.

Everyone has their own moral perspective, and makes their choice depending on it.

Bottom line is that sex sells.

If you're smart enough to think about proof reading, have you considered internet research with AQA or Textperts?

Fay, sorry to sound dumb but who are AQA and Textperts? I'm in serious need of income and I'm in a similar boat to the OP.!
