Shopping online - watch your online bill

Sainsbury have begun to deliver to my area and this morning I sent a trial online order. I noticed that the amounts on the online bill varied for several items where I had taken advantage of their special offers. Not always in their favour I might add, so a malfunction of their website rather than a careless omission.

Tesco orders never do add up, as discount is taken off the final bill, but apparently Sainsbury only change the final amount if they have to substitute or because of differences between the weight ordered and the weight delivered.

I phoned and was given a discount on the order for my trouble so I can't complain but I would suggest that if you order from them you check that (for example) if it says 'buy two for £5' that the amount listed against your purchase is £5

I did an order with Tesco a few weeks ago. Didn't look at the receipt. A few days later, my husband looked at the bag that was holding the grapes and was astonished to find we had paid over £10 (yes £10) for the grapes. Allegedly over 4kg!! On looking at the bill, they had also charged us over £3 for a small piece of broccoli.
A quick phone call and they have refunded nearly all the money paid for these. But if it hadn't been for my husband happening to glance at the bag, I would never have realised. Lesson learnt I think!
