redundancy pay

I am due to lose my job at the end of May. I have been with the same company off and on for around 5 years. But, in my current period i have only been with them shortly over 6 months!
As such i am not entitled to any redundancy pay!
However, my company is willing for my last month of salary be paid to me as a redundancy payment...thus avoiding the employemtn tax.
Is this allowed?

On the face of it this does not sound like you would be entitled to a redundancy payment. It may be that they are treating it like a payment in lieu of notice which may not be taxable but is dependant on the terms and conditions of your contract.
