Nice Offer They must be getting desperate

I have a credit card with Skycard (aka Barclay card) I owe them
£1600 and their one of a few lenders I am paying via Payplan since
Dec

Anyway cut a long story short they just phoned me up to say they
will settle the account if I pay £800 or £200 x3, seems a good offer
sadly I don't have that sort of spare cash to payout

just thought it was interesting that they would settle for half the money
so quickly into the payplan agreement.

We had a letter very similar to that last week from MBNA, saying much the same thing - pay £850 now, and we'll forget the xxx amount outstanding.

Hmmmmm, does seem like a decent offer, but be careful. I'm not sure how it works, but the rest of your creditors could find out, and then want the same thing doing with them. You must treat each creditor fairly when it comes to paying them off, otherwise they don't take kindly to you... that's what we were advised by CCCS anyway, so we just tore the letter up and binned it.

When did you get the card ? Sky card sell the bad debts to DCA for a pittance. Could be theres not a copy of a true CCA ?
