Toluna- 16 615 (Need 60000 for Sainsbury's voucher) Lightspeed- 110 points (aiming for a W H miths or BHS 10.00 voucher)

can't believe how organised you lot are - I just follow one simple rule - all presents must cost £5.00 or less unless absolute bargains (and then not more than a tenner). Only ds1 and ds2 get expensive presents and they get stored in a different place so as to avoid peeking

It saves me money in two ways - firstly the items are reduced themselves and secondly having them at hand saves the last min dash to tesco's/town to buy something - anything so long as it's quick! Thoses presents always cost more as time stress makes me careless with the plastic.:pMSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
I don't have a set price, but for example the other day I bought a christmas present for my friends son (usually spend up to £25 on him) and spent £15 on an item that should have been over £60. Doing it this way you find the perfect present for people too - rather than in the mad pre christmas shopping where you end up just getting anything to tick another name off the list!
We have so many friends and family to buy for it is the best way!
Long live the boots sale!!! This year when it went down to 75% my dog woke me up needing a wee in the early hours, I was planning on getting up at 6am, but I logged on & got loads - I had also already gone through & written what I hoped to get so I did not have to look at the detail on anything!!!

Hey all me too, I have a separate wardrobe which has loads of shelfs i tend to get stuff from boots, tesco, house of fraser and next clearance especially when they have the sales and all kids clothes are £2 i buy for all age as i know come xmas and birthdays i have them, sometimes i will give pressies knowing that the child may have to 'grow into them' but to me that just means they will give more wear.
When tesco have ther clearance sales i spent £30 but got so much stuff i brought loads of baby outfits which has come in handy as loads of family/friends expecting- only has baby girl oufits left so lets hope there are no boys due
Its a really good idea to do it like this and i would recommend it

I'm trying to budget to about £5 per gift basket that I'm doing (sadly I went over that with first two birthdays but managed with the third.
Getting everything from charity shops this year and get some real bargains (see Bargains thread) and its fun shopping that way as I never know quite what I'll come across.Mary

Have made a start, and started collecting for hubbies birthday in June. Have a few DVD's for xmas gifts. Find if I collect to early end up using for kids birthday's and their birthday parties. I usually think I'm doing really well, then find all kids birthdays at the later end of the year. Doh!Now I've sort of been prompted will make start next month, as really skint this one:DGrocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.

I know it'll sound strange, but I don't have a cupboard - I have a shower cubicle, lol

One of the bedrooms in the house we rent has a shower cubicle and sink in the corner - we'll never use it as a shower, and we can't rip it out, so it's now an impromptu cupboard stacked with boxes full of hamper bits and other pressies I've found on offer.

Another Bootser here! If Christmas was tomorrow I could just about manage to give everyone a lovely gift and all birthdays for this year covered too!
Whoops forgot to say, I have a top box and plenty of plastic storage where I keep most of my gifts but as most of my pressies will be hampers this year the worst things to store are the baskets themselves and they tend to find there way to the top of the wardrobesProud to be dealing with my debts Sealed pot challenge 180 £2 coins £184 2008 £1 a day challenge£100+ Nectar 4809/Boots 1724 Focus for 2008 Clear £1777.00 CC, [strike]£1000 [/strike]overdraft Holiday [strike]£525[/strike]:j CC recovery£976 NO SMOKING WK7 £2100 -
I have a suitcase in my parents' attic containing all family presents for this year, except the final three Christmas presents. Birthday presents are already there.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Have been doing this for a few years now, and have a huge amount of bargain present packed away. Infact (please dont throw things at me). Have bought all b'day and xmas presents for this year, and have got over half sorted for next year!!
Boots 75% off sale - love it. Managed to get to 4 stores this year and pick up loads of bits. Another idea is to check out halfcost - they have a bargain section for everything they're selling for £1.
I keep a book going - divided into who I have to buy for and what the occassion is, and as I pick things up I just make a note in my book.
Generally wrap all my xmas present sup in Sept - which means I have a stress free (and cheap) run up to Christmas:j Bought all my presents for this year (birthday and Christmas) now starting on next years!!:j0
