If you didnt already hold personal accounts with Barclays then they would credit score and treat you as a new customer.
they said they couldn't elaborate because of the "data protection act" (typical corporate bullsh*t cop-out, what they can't discuss with the account holder whey they've been rejected?! please).

They cant discuss it with you as the staff are not shown the data with a reason why it is refused. They are given a quick summary reason which can be as little as "failed to credit score" (or similar).

Sorry, I should have clarified, I meant Barclays were opening a new account for me, but that's when it got rejected.

OK. I think some of our replies were taking into account your thread heading of "Rejected change of name on business account" and what you wrote about moving from operating as a limited company to a sole trader.

Thanks, I will. Although in my book, all banks are as evil as each other :D Still, if it saves me £80 a year it's got to be worth it.

I detect past problems which is probably the reason they don't want your custom now.

I think the only problem I've had is when I've once gone into unauthorised o/d... aside from that, there really is nothing.

  • In your eyes you say that all banks are evil - how can you possibly say that unless you have had problems with more than one?
